Marine Waste Made Into Art

Artist Pam Longobardi is famous for making pieces of art from waste collected along beaches, Longobardi an Art Professor at Georgia State University and an artist famous around the World is coming to Alaska. One of her recent art pieces was a large hand mirror murel made from black plastic. It is hoped that she will be involved in a project to made an art exhibit from waste marine debris. It is felt that people tend to connect with the issue of plastic waste and the harm it does to the environment through art.

But Alaska has been involved in work like this for sometime in fact in Kachemak bay debris buoys are decorated by local artists and are dotted along the bay. It will however be fun to see what gets created.
