Yukon River is Set to Get Aid

The Yukon river region of Alaska is due to receive $5M in disaster aid this year. Yukon river villages have struggled in the last few years with declining numbers of king salmon and chinook. This is significant as people there depend on salmon for their livelihoods. The plan to send the disaster relief money stems from the declaration of disaster in January by the US Commerce Secretary.
