Fish fry is very popular in Southern India -in Kerala, a beautiful state full of back waters, coconut trees and amazing fresh water fish. If you are able to take a vacation there you can rent a house boat for the day and sleep overnight. There is even a chef on board who will cook you fresh fish!

Tamil Nadu, a neighboring state also has tasty fish dishes, often steaks of king mackerel will be marinated in spices and lightly pan fried.

This recipe can be used for any type of fish, salmon, halibut and mackerel work particularly well.

Ingredients:

  • fish steaks
  • curry leaves
  • fish fry masala powder
  • salt
  • turmeric
  • ginger/garlic paste
  • chili powder
Method:
  1. marinate the fish in the spices with olive oil for about 20 min
  2. lightly pan fry in olive oil for about 5 min on each side.
This is great to eat with Dal, rice and vegetables
