Candidates for the Position of Governor of Alaska join a fish debate each year in Kodiak Alaska. This has been the case since 1990 and has attracted 100% participation . The even is broadcast live on radio and on the Internet and draws a big audience across the state. The debate is important as the fishing industry is Alaska’s biggest employer and accounts for 60% of America wild fish catch.
